"J'ai parlé de ce projet hier soir à la cafète du Paradis à Madame Loren. Elle a bondi en hurlant : ma no, encora eux ! Je l'ai un peu calmée en lui faisant respirer un bon petit cappuccino et elle m'a expliqué que si elle en était arrivée là aujourd'hui - elle a dit plus exactement : sur ces nouages si pourris que si tou marches en talons aiguilles dessous tou meurs una secunda fois -, c'est parce qu'on lui avait demandé un beau jour de faire semblant de mourir devant la caméra mais que c'était un piège puisque la vie l'avait vraiment quittée. Moi je lui ai dit : Sophia, vous êtes trop bonne comédienne, voilà ce qui a. Faites un peu semblant de vivre, pour voir. Sur ce, elle disparaît ! J'ai peur, car dans son état d'esprit, elle est capable de faire un malheur sur terre..." Et pendant ce temps, Monsieur Ducobu, un peu honteux, veni, vidi, arrive et derci.

FAIS LE MORT POUR LA CAMERA - PROJET WEST

DJ Le Beer, alias Tante Bebeth's nephew, a participé à un projet artistique consistant à tomber mort dans un lieu public bruxellois, sous l'oeil d'une caméra vidéo. Il vous invite à faire ça aussi.

"Voici l'email de confirmation que ces italiens, avec Matteo Kinkaleri à leur tête, m'ont envoyé pour me confirmer ma participation à leur projet WEST.

Pour ceux que ça intéresse de participer à cette performance(...), qui aboutira à la présentation d'une installation vidéo, il faut juste ce présenter à l'heure indiquée et le lieu précisé d'une de ces scéances de tournage, dont la liste figure ci-dessous.

Ces évènements auront été filmé à Bruxelles, Paris, Rome, Berlin, New York et encore plein d'autres villes. L'installation, qui montrera tous ces agonisants l'un après l'autre...sera présentée, en collaboration avec le Kaaitheater, durant le mois d'octobre , ou novembre je ne sais plus. Mais ça n'a pas d'importance puisque tous les participants seront prévenus par e-mail.

Ca m'a l'air cool comme projet. En effet, j'ai croisé ces gens ce mercredi matin et ils ont pris le temps de bien m'expliquer leur projet et j'ai rigolé (pas au moment où je le faisais évidement...) à m'écrouler pour faire le mort devant leur caméra. Salut, Bernard."

22-25 June 2005 – Filming in Brussels [Belgium]

Hello everybody.
We will soon be in Brussels shooting WEST(Bruxelles/Brussel).

This City/Brussels is part of a complex project named WEST consisting of video shooting sessions in some Western big cities, a sequence of single persons collapsing to the ground in front of the video-camera “as if they were dying”.
Brussels is the seventh city so far: WEST(Paris), WEST(Roma), WEST(Amsterdam), WEST(Athina), WEST(Wien) and WEST(Berlin) will be followed shortly by London, Madrid, New York, Praha, Tokyo.

Also for Brussels as the next venue we are looking for persons willing to be filmed, advisably directed, while "dying" in the street.
The action and the filming engage the person for just a couple of minutes.

WEST consists of the accumulation of the separate deceases put into effect during the stay in the cities and edited for installations on a multiple monitor-screening and live acts. Usually at the openings also a live section takes place, that in real time organises and shoots further human deaths, broadcasted live on a screen from an adjacent location. We will keep you informed about the next events.

We will be filming all in and around Brussels from JUNE 22 to 25. We need as more people as possibile who are willing to partecipate voluntarily in the project and we are trying to get an outline of the agreements at soonest. Please choose your favourite spot (among the ones listed below) and BOOK your own "falling".
